140 - Zach Helm joins 140

That's right, famed hollywood writer Zach Helm has join the 140 project -- just incase you don't know who famed Hollywood writer Zach Helm is, he's the guuy that wrote Stranger Than Fiction (Dustin Hoffman, Will Ferell, Emma Thompson) and wrote and directed Mr.Magorium's Magical Emproium (Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman) so there!

It's great news, means word has spread far and wide and people are indeed interested in the project. 

The Paste Magazine article was a great boost, and the fact that 140 is currently the #1 article on the website is an even better boost!

So far I have 103 filmmakers, with more to confirm, but it's looking like I should have the 140 in time for shooting, which is June 21 at 8pm GMT.

It's pretty amazing and slightly mind-boggling that over one hundred filmmakers around the world have signed up, seem excited by this idea and are putting a huge amount of thought and preparation into this. I haven't quite got my head around it. 

But I guess it show exactly how the internet and these kind of social networking websites, often thought of as distraction and full of useless content, can be used as real world tools to help independent filmmakers create work. All it requires is some knowledge of how these things work and lots and lots of time and patience!

Also, if there are anymore Irish filmmakers out there I only have filmmakers in Dublin and Cork, I'd love love love to get some more from around the country to represent Ireland in this project. Please let me know before all the places are gone... only 37 left!!!
