Production Hell
Ufff...
Just a few days left before the shoot and its killing me. Things have become far more complicated that I thought they possibly could.
Firstly, our second, hopeful main character-to-be, changed her mind and didn’t appear at the pre-interview as it was set-up before. That situation got me in a little panic, because to date we have just two nice girls we managed to interview last Sunday who were willing to be a part of our pyjama project.
But it’s still not enough as it doesn’t give me characters and perspective i need to ask my central question about pyjama culture: ‘freedom or fashion’.Each day it seems that the project is going away from my first intention…
Secondly - I checked the weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday, and that information didn’t help me at all with all my plans. I imagined shooting Pyjama Girls outdoor. At least we got permission to shoot PJ girls at a really nice and pleasant café in Dublin 8. That was a huge relief.
Thirdly - we still don’t have any permission to shoot at any stores selling pyjamas. It is so complicated and all the procedures take so much time. I hope that finally we will get it, as I have in my head some ideas for cutaways precisely in shops full of that beautiful, colorful pairs of pyjamas.
Anyway, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The weather forecast for Dublin is really good. To prevent or avoid any disappointment on a shootings days, Rene, our camera man, arranged booked some equipment from the good people at FilmBase for Tuesday. We will get a camera, tripod and boom and Rene, Kiara and myself are going to meet up and do some nice, optimistic shots.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that ‘Big Tuesday’ will make my heart little more quiet and that we will find some interesting character or at least we will get some nice footage.
We are planning to do most of the cutaway shots that day, but what will happen overall only God knows.
On the picture: our sweet girls.
