Hello All Crewger Members and Friends,
We've been 'between websites' for a good few weeks now (don't ask) so apologies for the up/down time. Couldn't be helped unfortunately.
But we are glad to announce that the wait has most definitely been worth it.
At Crewger, we are all about collaborative film making. Our goal is to provide a platform that will allow for the establishment of a national network of filmmakers working as part of a collaborative community process.
Today we would like to give you a tour of the features launched to date, as well as a short preview of things to come over the coming weeks.
So what's new?
• Forums- One of the big holes in the old site has now at last been filled. We have divided the forum into the various networks on the site. Debate, discuss, hell fight (why not!?) - I would also advise you to use this as a classifieds section for now.
• Resources - The engine of our new site arrives, better late than never. Crewger is all about a community sharing resources and the ‘Resource’s’ section is our first pass at the engine of this community.
Are you an actor with distinguishing features? Do you have a location with a castle, a truck drivers licence, a mini DV camera or a clowns costume? Are you a band with some potential soundtrack music? Do you provide training for new directors? If so – POOL IT!
We advise advice all members to get to work on this section immediately - the more honest information you add the more chance you have of finding work in this godforsaken climate.
• Write for Crewger – As with everything on Crewger, You Control the Content!
Our hope is that the main news section of the site will be a chance for the entire community to comment on current issues in the film industry or report on the new age of digital filmmaking we find ourselves a part. Get in touch with us if you are interested in writing a single article or would like to become a regular contributor.
• Festivals Page – Festivals are essentially groups but we like them so much we have given them their own section on the site.
• Competitions Page – Crewger will be running regular featured competitions on the site, similar to our recent ‘48 Hour Film Experiment’. The wonderful thing about this new feature is that competitions can be run live on the site, with updates from each project entered feeding onto the individual competition page. AND, multiple competitions can be run on the site at the same time. If you have a competition you would like to run on the site do get in touch and we will set you up in no time.
• Twitter Tags - Everybody (relatively speaking) loves Twitter. And why not.
On Crewger, members can register a Twitter Tag with every Group, Project and Competition. Make sure to add your own personal or company Twitter Account to your profile and use this feature to keep people up to date with all your production activity.
• Networks - Crewger have built various networks into the site, allowing filmmakers from different skill sets and backgrounds to work within their own community or at their own level. Groups and Projects are attached to specific networks, and in time you will be able to filter relevant content on the site by network. Why? So that schools, colleges and professional filmmakers can have their own customized site silly!
• Videos – You can now search for videos based on location and genre.
