Is our natural heritage to be seen as a raw material for exploitation, or is there another value system that can inform how we relate to the natural world around us? This is a story of how one community came together and against massive odds turned an area that was to be destroyed into a possible National Heritage Area. This is also the story of a change in attitudes by the authorities towards the natural landscape of Ireland.
